Hand in Hand EA Kenya

By adopting sustainable practices in the use of waste products, ocean resources, through our projects we have ensured that the environment including the ocean remains healthy and productive, and that communities that depend on it can thrive.

Projects Under this include:

Women in Waste

Building the waste-based enterprise and technical skills of 1000 low-income women and men (target 80 percent women, 40 percent youth) while supporting and scaling local waste management will support better livelihoods within the waste-based enterprise sector and contribute to environmental protection.

Waves of Change (WoC)

The Waves of Change Project`s main objective is to reduce plastic pollution through preventive measures especially towards the Indian Ocean. This is likely to be achieved through small scale initiatives (waves) involving the informal waste managers within Mombasa County as well as influencing change in the governance through policy influence as far as waste management is concerned by the County Government of Mombasa.
